Privacy policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what data reStyler (by HomeDeco.nl) collects when you use the app, and what we do with it. reStyler is a small experiment, not a large commercial service -- this text is deliberately kept simple.
Who's responsible
reStyler is a product of HomeDeco.nl. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to restyler@homedeco.nl.
What we collect
- Email address -- to log you in (via a one-time login link or your Google account).
- Photos you upload -- room photos and any inspiration photos, plus the AI-generated results.
- Usage data -- such as your language preference, and briefly (for abuse prevention) the IP address a login email was requested from.
We deliberately don't ask for an address, phone number, or other data not needed to make the app work.
What we use your data for
- To log you in and save your past designs/library.
- To send your uploaded photo to Google's Gemini AI, which generates the new design image. This happens via Google's API -- Google processes the photo to produce the result; we don't keep a separate copy with Google.
- To (for "Shop the look") compare detected furniture's style against a product catalog, so we can show matching products.
- To email you a login link via SendGrid, if you don't log in with Google.
- To recognize and prevent abuse (e.g. spam or automated overload).
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it to third parties.
Who we share data with
Only the parties needed to make the app work: Google (for Google login and for AI image generation via Gemini) and SendGrid (for sending login emails). These parties process data on our behalf, not for their own purposes.
How long we keep data
For as long as your account exists. If you delete your uploaded or generated photos from your library or history yourself, they're removed from our servers. To have your entire account (including all photos) deleted, email restyler@homedeco.nl.
Cookies
We only use a functional session cookie to remember that you're logged in. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact restyler@homedeco.nl to do so.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
